This piece was inspired by thinking about the term "public art", and the separation of public and private space. I wanted to suggest that a chain-link fence had sprouted branches due to neglect. In these pictures the fence is installed at the Carving Studio and Sculpture Center in West Rutland, Vermont, along the edge of an opening onto a massive marble quarry. |
